Big Day Out at Hever Castle.

What a glorious day we had at Hever Castle on Saturday. The beautiful house, whilst surprisingly bijou, is fascinating with so much history. The children absolutely loved the water maze which was a great way to cool them down in the heat. The grounds featured a wonderful lake (with boat rides), pathways leading to a Italian garden and loggia and a 'real' maze.

We were fortunate our visit coincided with their 'Home Front at Hever' event which meant so much 1940's fun - dancing, singing, outfits, lots of military kit and one or two of us might have got carried away with headgear. Although there was an opportunity to have your hair set with 'victory rolls' that I'm disappointed no-one took up ... but given the heat maybe not surprising!

Thank you to Katherine, Theresa, Yesim, Jon T and Jon M for sharing your lovely photos! And thank you to all that joined us for your company.
