This week has seen a flurry of Christmas events. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday the Monday night small group arranged an outreach to St John's school parents distributing free hot drinks, biscuits and our Christmas flyers.
Thursday saw our Little Fishes Christmas party in the church, the children had tremendous fun on the Little City play equipment, everyone enjoyed being in the church and of course the delicious snacks prepared by our Queens of the Counter, Lois, Cairine and Jenny.
The final ladies night of the year saw the ladies gather for shared nibbles and a quiz.
Laurence has been busy spreading festive cheer with a Christmas meal for Youth and multiple Christmas assemblies at Davenant, Buckhurst Hill Community Primary and St John's.
Our Festive Family Carols was a loud and lively service and we were delighted to welcome lots of new faces along side familiar ones. Shaw's sausage rolls went down a treat with the mulled wine and Lucy and Joy did a roaring trade hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows.
On Monday Martyn's Singing for the Brain group hosted their Christmas Sing-a-long with the children and parents of Year 3 at St John's School in the church. A really lovely event with lots of Christmas knitwear (and that's just Martyn!), wonderful singing and a very touching moment when the year 6 children (who were the first group that Martyn ran a dementia friends session for) returned to give their Dementia Friends Christmas cards.
