On Sunday we held our Church Family BBQ in the Rectory Garden. The first of two events to celebrate Ian's 23 years of ministry with us at St John's.

Little Fishes, we are in the Rectory Garden today for our last session before the holidays.

We've put some extra shade up, there are some water games, there will be lollies.

Do bring a hat, sun cream and possibly some dry clothes.

She is up and we are bringing all the sparkle Buckhurst Hill ✨! We have two carol services this Christmas.

Our first is this Sunday at 7pm, a service of traditional carols and readings, with the music led by our choir. This is a really beautiful service offering a break from the busyness of Christmas and an opportunity to soak in the season. We are serving mulled wine and sausage rolls afterwards.

On Christmas Eve we hope to see all the Christmas knitwear at our festive family carols. To whet your whistle there will be mulled wine and hot chocolate served from 4.30pm, before the main event kicks off at 5.00pm.

Months of work from Buckhurst Hill Mother's Union, Noah's Ark Knit and Natter group and friends and family of St Johns's have created this wonderful Remembrance display.

Everyone of these poppies is handmade and then hand tied to the netting. We finished it together in Church in a final push to get it made on time.

Our Remembrance Sunday service will be on Sunday 9th November at 10.45 am. We will remember them.

Every year they collect, pack and send shoeboxes to children all over the world. They must have sent 100's and 100's of boxes over the years they have been doing this project.

Get your bake on this afternoon and bring donations of cake to sell, or just your appetite, tupperware and ££!

Celebrating VE day 80 in Buckhurst Hill with a wonderful community tea party in the church. The children from year 3 at St John's school started the party with a lively sing off. Then the St John's Toetappers took over with an afternoon of classic songs. Thank you for joining us!

We are welcoming Adrian Bruce to our 10.45am service, he will be talking to us about the work he does in prisons as part of Mission Sunday. This does mean there is no 8.45am service this week.

The APCM will be in church at 6pm, if you are on our church electoral roll we look forward to seeing you. Refreshments will be served from 5.45pm.
