Journey to the top of the tower! St John's spire can be seen across Buckhurst Hill, but here is a view seen by very few.

Up some rickety, steep wooden steps, past the bells to a wonderful view of the inside of the spire. What craftsmen those Victorian builders were.

Glad to have my feet back on terra firma though!

Last week we were delighted to host a Dementia Friends session in the church with the aim of making us a more dementia friendly community.

These lively and interactive sessions last about an hour and are a wonderful source of information and practical help. We are planning to run more of these sessions in 2025, watch this space for more information!

Spotted this beauty on a frosty walk in the churchyard this morning, how appropriate on this first weekend of Advent. Join us on Sunday as we light the first candle in our Advent wreath and start the Christmas countdown! We have services at 8.45am, 10.45am and 7pm.

If you are joining us at 10.45 bring your pennies for cake as there will be a bake sale in aid of @noahsarkcommunity. They would also be grateful for donations of pre-loved warm clothes in good condition and boxes of biscuits and chocolates so their clients can have a treat this Christmas!

This Christmas we have services for everyone. Our all-age services range from Family Carols followed by hot chocolate and mulled wine on Sunday 15th to the organised chaos of our Nativity on Christmas Eve.

If you prefer something a bit more traditional we have a service of Carols and Readings on Sunday 22nd and a Communion service on Christmas Eve at 11.30pm.

On Wednesday we were delighted to welcome back Darren and his wonderful colleagues from AIG.

They spent a backbreaking morning cutting back and tidying our vast amount of hedges, saving our volunteer gardeners literally weeks of work, whilst helping keep it a special place for all of our community to enjoy. All this in exchange for cake!

This Sunday morning Leo is continuing his Big God series with 'Big Judge' looking at Isaiah 2:6-22, join us at 8.45am or 10.45am.

Our APCM is on Sunday evening at 6pm. So there will be no 7pm teaching.
